How This Lesson Adapts to You
Every learner walks the same 17 sections in the same order. What changes is the content
inside each section, resolved from your profile. Two keys matter most: your formation and
role set the depth, and your functional area sets the field the lesson lives in.
Foundational (L1) - You are the chaplain beside the person in the moment.
Core vocabulary, one clear protocol, and guided step-by-step activities. You learn to notice, stay present, and refer.
Not yet: leading a team, designing programs, or supervising other chaplains. Roles: Volunteer, In training, Lay caregiver · Formation: Lay, Certificate · CPE 100-200
Practitioner (L2) - You are the chaplain running the encounter.
Referral judgment, stakeholder awareness, and scenario work for leading care from first contact through follow-up.
Not yet: first-exposure basics, program design, or supervising others. Roles: Endorsed / credentialed chaplain, Clergy · Formation: Undergraduate, Graduate · CPE 300-500
Supervisor (L3) - Your focus shifts to the caregiver and the system.
You design the program, carry the chaplains who deliver it, and critique the model itself against evidence and practice.
Not: front-line delivery of a single encounter as your primary task. Roles: Supervisor / educator · Formation: Doctoral · CPE 600-900
